Julia Bell
Julia Bell is Founder and Director of Julia Bell Art Advisory (formerly know as Parapluie). Julia is an independent art advisory and accredited appraiser, advising family offices, private collectors, trustees, insurers and legal professionals on the acquisition, management, valuation and strategic stewardship of modern, post-war and contemporary art collections. With more than thirty years' experience spanning both the public and private sectors, Julia provides advice across the full lifecycle of collecting. Her work encompasses acquisitions and sales, collection development, valuation, due diligence, provenance research, collection management, governance, succession planning, philanthropy and legacy planning. Prior to establishing her advisory practice, Julia spent two decades leading collection development, partnerships and strategic initiatives within major UK cultural institution. Julia advises internationally on modern, post-war and contemporary art, working with family offices, entrepreneurs, private collectors, corporate collections and professional advisors. An accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA AM) and USPAP qualified, Julia combines recognised appraisal expertise with strategic market insight. She is a member of the Institute of Art and Law, qualified in Law and Collection Management and also Art Profession, Law and Ethics. She currently serves as Chair of the Collection Advisory Committee at the Crafts Council, London and is on the Advisory panel of the London Art Fair.
