Colin Bird

Colin Bird is Chairman of Corient’s (formerly known as Stonehage Fleming) Isle of Man office, based in Douglas. He specialises in trust and company law across the Isle of Man and the British Virgin Islands, and also serves as director and corporate trustee on various onshore and offshore structures. He also advises on art acquisitions for private collections. Bird joined Corient in 2026, following Corient’s acquisition of Stonehage Fleming, which had in turn acquired Maitland in 2021 where he was a partner. He works primarily with private clients and family offices based in various locations internationally. His professional credentials include notary public status on the Isle of Man, plus admission to practice in South Africa, England and Wales, and the British Virgin Islands.
